Primary School - Exploring Karnataka

For our Primary children exploring the culture of Karnataka in 2023-24 was very exciting. A lot of activities and field trips were planned to make this exploration experiential.

Visit to Rangoli gardens

At the Rangoli gardens in Bangalore, our children got the opportunity to explore the different lifestyles prevalent in Karnataka.

Jaggery making unit, Mandya

For some children the highlight of visiting the Jaggery making unit was sitting on the dried bagasse of sugarcane, drawing patterns, and exploring textures. While for others it was when the farmers dipped the sugarcane sticks into the hot liquid jaggery in a huge iron pan and passed it around to taste. Delicious!

Toy making factory, Channapatna

At the toy factory the wow moment was when sticks magically became tiny dolls! It was a proud moment for our children when they walked out of the factory with a toy they had made with the support of the toy makers who worked there.

‘Kahale Karnatakadha Kalarava’, an enthralling Fest, was the consolidation of the exploration of Karnataka. Children studied cultural aspects of their State – Festivals, Art and Architecture, Geography, History, Dance Forms, and so much more.
